I hardly watch TV, but Fringe stands out for a couple reasons the zany Dr. Walter Bishop and the theme music. The former has irrepressible cravings for food, the latter is undeniably catchy. Even if Olivia Dunham is meant to be the "main character", the show doesnt work without Bishops far-flung expertise and polarized reactions. Fringes theme is composed by the multitalented J.J. Abrams, and I listened to it so much that I was compelled to learn it on the piano and play it for you. Thanx to No1hotdogguy for helping me figure out, so I could take sheer liberties to blend it with X-Files. (Which Fringe has inevitably drawn comparisons to.) Theres also some Rachmaninoff influence because Ive been listening to Matt Bellamys solos lately. The Fringe theme is quite simple and reminiscent of Philip Glass, but fits the opening titles gloriously as a lovely work! Suitably, I made the video look lo-fi, as if it was a venture into madness performed in a 1960s university lab… not unlike Walters. Thanx to NewBlue Film Pro for the gritty retro look, and I also used a touch of iZotope Vinyl to scrunge up the audio, tho not much — I wanted the clarity of the piano tones to shine through. I filmed this performance with a refurbished Canon SD1100 IS, a fine bargain. It pays to be resourceful, especially if youre conducting experiments. ---- Distributed by Tubemogul.

If you do not want to have the Search bar in the Menu bar, or if you would rather bandwidth meters in the Menu bar in place of the Search bar, theres an option in Second Life Release Candidate 1.19.1 (and newer) to remove or swap out the Search bar. Go to Edit menu -- Preferences -- General tab and uncheck the box in front of "Show search panel in overlay bar". The Search bar will be replaced with the old bandwidth meters; left is packet loss and right is active downloads in Kbps/second. (Red packet loss means that your connection is terrible and a lot of data is being lost in transmission. UBERAWESOMEISM is a revolution in your pants and/or skirt. Its fundamental uniqueness — an intellectual-yet-groovy synthesis of preexisting artforms to create a newness more new than any new experienced before — is a testament to the perfunctionary variance of expressive artistic mediums as channeled through the virtual world of Second Life, a 3D space where people sometimes sit in camping chairs and have intimate pixel relations (sometimes simultaneously!), but can do other things too — such as this. The brainchild of "digital burlesque" artists Torley & Ravenelle (aka Ravi), UBERAWESOMEISM draws upon preestablished interpretive tropes and neophysical concepts employing avatar body language and the totality of ones AWESOME SELF contained within the parameters of a vibrant GLOW field, and unleashed via a quota of sheer asskickology. One does not understand UBERAWESOMEISM. One never will. One can only shake thy booty and dance like a flower making love to itself, a self-indulgence which increases the smile factor present in ones sometimes humorless Second Life. In this first act, we present, for your consideration, the symbolism of such a flower, emphasized in the colors of PINK + GREEN. Observe as Ravi parts her supple columns of artificial meat and spins into the air, a ripe, gorgeous blossom. Her enthusiastic companion in this mixed-pair performance, Torley, suddenly thrusts onto the floor and rolls in the non-existent dirt of this simulacrum, beholding strong overtones reminiscent of humility and grace. These spontaneous lezizs are not meant to titillate your carnal urges; rather, they are here to provoke your thoughts at partytime and induce (re)action, as all great and crap art does. There can be no more meaningful message than this, my friends. This is not just art. This is... UBERAWESOMEISM.
